Artist to Watch: Shaun Ellison.

Shaun Ellison has a fascinating story of how he came to his art practice.

While playing college tennis, he was invited to visit the home of noted art collectors (whose collection included works by Harring & Basquiat) and he was so inspired by the experience, he set out to make art the following day.

His exhibition back in September at Taymour Grahne called “Hit & Miss” connected back to his tennis roots, which in his words is an “idiosyncratic partnership.”

This work is “Fans” - one of my favorite works of the year, which was a acquired by a collector-friend on the West Coast.
