Spring is coming and there is so much great art to see.

Here in Miami, I am thrilled to announce a new exhibition I have organized/curated, Ron Chen: Eternal Window. Eternal Window is a poignant show of Ron Chen’s recent paintings which will open on March 27 in Buena Vista (just north of the Design District in Miami). As you may recall, Chen’s work was prominently featured in HOME | LAND and I am so excited to bring more of his ethereal landscapes to Miami. If you are interested in gaining early access to the collector’s preview, please email me.

Here are some other great shows to visit this Spring:

Bay Area:

Ruth Asawa Retrospective at SF MoMA, Opens April 5.

Visit the Legion of Honor in March, and enjoy photography by Paul McCartney and paintings by Wayne Thiebaud. (McCartney opens March 1; Thiebaud opens March 22).

Miami:

Lucy Bull: The Garden of Forking Paths, remains on view at ICA Miami until March 30.

Jose Parla’s first solo-museum show in his hometown of Miami, Homecoming at PAMM remains on view until July 6.

New York:

A major solo exhibition examining the art of Rashid Johnson (whose work is pictured above) opens at the Guggenheim on April 18.

MoMA will show a recently discovered portfolio of Hilma AF Klint’s floral drawings; opens May 11.

As you know, I am a huge proponent of seeing as much art as possible. In addition to health and social benefits, seeing art can help you fine-tune your eye and help you better understand the type of art that you enjoy and might want to hang in your home.

Importantly, if you are seeing art with kids - don’t get overly ambitious. A quick visit is valuable and “worth it” (here are some of my key tips). Just seeing a few artworks is more than enough for most kids (and some adults).
