RON CHEN:

ETERNAL WINDOW

March 27 - APRIL 17 2025
CURATED BY MICHELLE AZOUT

Ron Chen (b. 1990 Kfar Saba) creates landscape paintings that explore the intersection of digital imagery, perception, and light. His works are characterized by an Impressionist-like dotted surface that focuses on capturing the ethereal quality of images.

The title of the show, Eternal Window, is a nod to the poem by noted Israeli writer Yehuda Amichai. The poem captures the significance of memory, particularly in the Jewish tradition, which serves not only to understand the past but also to fortify oneself for the future—a message of strength particularly poignant in 2025, at a time when global antisemitism has reached record-high levels.

ETERNAL WINDOW
BY YEHUDA AMICHAI

Within a garden I once heard
a song or an old blessing.

And above the dark trees
an eternal window is always lit

in memory of the faces that were in it,
themselves a memory of another lit window.

חלון תמיד

בתוך גן שמעתי פעם

שיר או ברכה ישנה

ומעל לעצים האפלים

חלון תמיד מואר

לזכר הפנים שהיו בו

שגם הם זכר חלון מואר אחד
