How I started my business…

I was recently interviewed on a podcast where I was asked to discuss my background and the defining moment that led me to start my business. It was a really fun opportunity to reflect on what has now been 17 years working in the art world.

After working at museums in New York (the Guggenheim) and California (the Cantor Arts Center at Stanford University), and following a move to Miami during the pandemic in 2021, I found myself figuring out what I would do next professionally. I explored various logical options, like working in a gallery or a museum, which felt safe and familiar, and then ultimately decided to take the entrepreneurial plunge and launch this boutique business, where I help people buy art. Starting a business has been: fulfilling, demanding, surprising, exhausting and exhilarating but at the end of it all, I am so thrilled that I get to bring works of art into people’s homes.

Artists in my client’s collections span the gamut: they include artists living in the countryside of France to the beaches of Tel Aviv; artists in their late 80’s and artists just graduating college; artists working with materials ranging from ceramics to collage and textiles; these artworks have made their way into my client’s homes and lives, and subsequently these living artists have benefited from their patronage; I am so happy to be a facilitator of that symbiotic ecosystem.
