"It was beyond language."
These are the words of Jerusalem-based HOME | LAND artist Mindy Weisel, and that is the best way to sum up a 10,000 square foot room filled with beautiful works of art from Israel. It transcended language - and moved people to their core - only art can do that.
It was an honor to direct and curate this exhibition, in conjunction with the Consulate General of Israel in Miami and Tikkun Now, which took place in Miami last week.
It was a truly non-stop, inspiring, exhausting week! We welcomed hundreds (upwards of 1500 visitors) over 3 days. We had artist talks, panel discussions, and children’s activities. We were visited by Ruby Chen (the father of Itay Chen, one of the 101 hostages who remain in Gaza) which was a solemn but necessary reminder of the current hostage crisis. We were also visited by Rami Davidian and Millet Ben Haim (Millet survived the Nova Festival, when Rami heroically rescued her and many others on October 7th).

We have sold approximately 60% of the show, the rest is still online for sale. I encourage you to browse and send the link to your friends! I am already receiving photos of people enjoying their art works at home. I can say from my perspective, it has truly surpassed anything I could have ever thought was possible and I am so grateful for our sponsors, our volunteer team, our host committee, our vendors and of course my amazing clients.
The response to the exhibition has been overwhelmingly positive; here is one comment from Hodaya Louis (a Palm-Beach based artist), who attended the show:
The collection of the artworks together under one roof created an immersive, powerful experience. It felt like a sensitive curation that considered the colorful human fabric of Israel. Some elements were expected (color blue, Chai, Kalaniot, landscapes in various forms) while others - abstraction, digital manipulation, and digital drawing and video - felt like contemporary, non-conforming voices. Congratulations on an achievement that can't really be measured.
Thank you so much to those of you who joined us at the show - and for those that could not make it, be sure to check out the website, where the artwork will be for sale through the end of December.
