Artist to Watch: Kieran Brennan Hinton

If you recall, in my Spring newsletter, I mentioned that artists during the lockdown were forced to look closely around them for material for inspiration.

In the case of Kieran Brennan Hinton (b. 1992, Toronto; Yale MFA 2016), he focused on painting the interior spaces of an old rural schoolhouse in Ontario, where he spent months of the pandemic with his mother. As reported in Forbes, the paintings are luminous and tender, and show intimate portrayals of domestic life during the pandemic. The work is fantastic and I believe he is a rising star.
